On July 22, 23 2006 several of us attended the annual, C.H.U.B.B.Y. co-ed tournament in Cincinnati, OH. This is a well-run tournment on nice fields. Our band of 13 went 2-3 on Saturday and 0-2 on Sunday. Not so great, but we had a ton of fun.

Day 1

Ryan waits for the disc.

Jeff marking the thrower.

Here is a play that went well for us. Matt takes off and is in full flight before Jane receives the disc...

...and gets great separation between him and his defender, making the throw downfield a cinch. Reena (tan skirt) is headed towards the endzone before Matt catches the disc.

The defender arrives a little too late, this time.

Chris looks for a receiver.

Height has its advantages.

Offense releases a nice forehand past Michael.

Jane winds up for a forehand.

Jeff throws a 'hammer'.

Jane flips for 'pull' as we rest our tired selves.

Andrew pulls in the disc for a catch.

As is customary, each team performs a cheer for their opponents after the game. This team, from Cincinatti, had a choreographed routine worthy of Broadway.

Reena and Lindsey snuggle with Ryan. Some guys have all the luck.

Meanwhile, the hard day of Ultimate has wiped out Michael. The alcohol (plastic cup) may have also contributed.

Day 2

Reena tries out her throwing skills with a cooler-top. I think the heat may have finally gotten to her.

The dude in blue missed this sweet catch by Lindsey. Too bad for him.

Matt demonstrates his impression of Superman.

Another great catch by Lindsey. Unfortunately, it's out of bounds.

Where is Air Traffic Control when you need them?

Michael throws a 'scoober'. (If you're wondering what that sweet pattern on the disc is, check out this page.)

Reena doin' the 'alligator' (a.k.a 'pancake').

Another 'scoober'. This one gets past Ryan.

Carrie waits for the right throw as the defender fries eggs on her shirt.
